The 2002/2003 Season is now well under way and all our teams have been in action, tasting victories, suffering defeats but hopefully all enjoying themselves especially as so far the weather has been very kind to un. As usual at the start of any new season new players join our ranks and it takes time for them to settle in, getting to know the management teams as well as players around them but I am sure they have been made welcome and are also enjoying their football. At present we run 14 teams, ranging for Under 9's through to Under 16's performing in two local leagues. The Cheltenham Youth League and the Gloucester Youth League, while the Under 8's down to Under 6's are well looked after playing friendly matches when they can, which is good preparation for the leagues when they are old enough. Training for each team is arranged by the individual managers and takes place at various locations and days, if you want more information please phone me and I will try to help out. Following on from obtaining the FA Standard Charter we have issued Code of Conducts for players, supporters (parents) and the club itself. These should have been handed out by each manager and should be read by all and strictly adhered to. Up to the end of September the Gloucester Youth F.A. have had five adult related incidents reported to them and are looking into each one and action will be taken. None I might add are from Panthers, so PLEASE keep up the good work. The G.Y.F.A. also oversee any fines and suspensions for players booked and or sent off. I would like to remind everyone, players or their parents pay for all fines that are accrued by players, and not by the Club., if these fines are not paid the player cannot play.

To make sure that all our players are well looked after most of our managers have attend training courses, first aid courses and Child Protection courses and have filled in forms ready for any police checks that will be required. Talking of safety I would like to point out a couple of things to one and all, firstly no matter how old or young your offspring is, it is important that they are not left at the field of play/training on their own. So please don't just drop them off and drive away without first checking that the manager is already there, and please pick them up on time at the end of matches/training as most managers have families to attend to and would like to get home as soon as possible. Secondly to all dog owners who walk their pets on and around any sports ground can you PLEASE clean up after your beloved pets, as their mess can be very dangerous to anyone who has the mishap to fall into it. If you don't believe me, have a word with any vet of your choice about it. This problem has once again got out of hand after a long spell of very little problems. Fund raising has always been a problem for us as a club but we are very grateful to all the sponsors we have and are always on the look out for more. If you feel you can help out, Keith Clarke on 01452 531693 will be happy to talk to you and I'm sure your firms name/logo would look good on the front of Panthers kits as they perform up and down the county. During the summer months, outside the county in the many 6 - a sides we enter, and of course you would be helping to keep the famous Churchdown Panthers roaring on!
Thank you Trevor Middlecote
