GYFA Matters

Next season we will be unable to carry a suffix (i.e. Blues of Reds) without separate affiliation to the County FA. Therefore next season teams will be registered as either Churchdown Panthers or Churchdown Panthers Colts and as you will see, I do not foresee that this will cause us any problems. Please note that this is an administrative change only and should you wish to use the suffix locally then I cannot say that we will object. This is an F.A. rule and therefore is not open to debate.

Well done to the Under 12 Colts for getting through to the County Cup final (it's becoming a bit of a habit at this age group). Also well done to Sam Duncan from the Cheltenham League Under 15's who was selected to play for the County on Thursday 2 May 2002.

Telephone Calls

I have no problem with telephone calls before 21:30hrs. However, there has been an increase in the number of calls that I have received after this time that clearly could have waited. Please be aware that I have placed a device on my phone that tells me the number of who's phoning and if it is not a number I recognise after 21:30hrs, you will be diverted to the answer machine. Thank you for adhering to this as my wife will no longer tolerate being telephoned about football sometimes as late as 23:00hrs.

Gloucester League Matters

No fines since last meeting. Well done to you all.

The Team sheets for the Lydney six-a-side tournament on 19 May 02 must be returned to Iain Henderson befor the day of the tournament. Please ensure that you take your green cards with you for all of your squad, as they will be collected on the day.

Stuart, please arrange for your cards to be forwarded to me and I will take them along to the AGM on 9 May 92 for the safe keeping of the league until next season.

Please remember that entrance to the league depends on you sending a team to this fixture. Teams already registered for next season are Under 16's Colts, 16's, 14's Colts, 12's Colts and 12's. This will be confirmed after the AGM on Thursday 9 May 02. Once you are in then it will be very difficult for us to change our minds without attracting a large fine and losing a lot of face within County Football.

Cheltenham League Matters

NO FINES - CAN THIS BE TRUE.
Congratulations to the Under 12 Colts and the Under 10's who have been confirmed as League Champions. Well done to both teams. Also congratulations to the Under 10's who last weekend won the Under 10 Cup Final.
All registration cards are to be returned to Jon Miller by the 15 May 02. Please take a minute to place your cards in an envelope and send them to Jon to avoid unnecessary fines (£5.00p per team that is late which is a potential Club fine of £65.00p).
Well done to all our players who have represented Cheltenham at Inter-league level this season. I know that it makes you feel proud to represent the area from where you play and also that the level of football is that much higher.
The following teams have applied to play in the Cheltenham Youth League next season. They are: Under 9's A, B, 10's Colts, 10's, 11's Colts, 11's, 12's, 13's Colts, 13's, 14's and 15's.
Subject to what you have heard and what you may think, the Cheltenham Youth Football League will be continuing next season. The fact that persons are not standing again for their posts will be sorted out at the AGM in June 2002.
Tournaments.

To avoid any confusion, I have entered teams into the tournaments as they requested. However, some managers were very late in getting back to me and indeed I have some favours to repay on your behalf. If I do not contact you to say that you are in a tournament they you have not been successful. There will be none of the heated debates that took place last season, it is not my fault if you do not make the final draw.

Appendix
I am willing to carry on as Football Secretary for next season. Therefore, I can keep my courtesy house and Car that the Club provides me. Have a nice summer!
