The Chairman introduced and welcomed Mike Stanton as Under 8's Cubs Manager to the meeting. He also stated that the club had both written and called the council regarding the state of the John Daniels goalposts. They ad agreed to discuss at their next Amenities and Highways Commission meeting. The council had stated that the financial implications of resolving this issue could be impacted due to a  lack of funds for such work. However, it was felt that the Club could possibly help by making a contribution dependant on costs. The Chairman agreed to follow this up.

The Chairman had reported that the school had sought ot fill in the holes around the goals with earth which had contained stones and grass seed! They had however resolved the problem with the other pitch by pulling up the goals. He also informed the committee  that Dowty's had expressed their concern because they had allocated Panthers 2 pitches but another had been played on. Managers were reminded that they should check the pitch allocation which should be located within the changing room area. He alos informed the committee that the Park pitch was now playable although the goal posts were in a poor condition.

The Chairman informed the meeting that he had received a letter from the FA which stated that they were presently involved in a project with the Criminal Records Bureau. This was in relation to the Charter Standard which required all Managers to have signed Child Protection forms and to have been vetted. Unfortunately the FA were still unable to complete this at this time.  Also as part of holding the Charter Standard the Club could be offered tickets for England representative matches. These tickets would be offered time permitting to any manager who could make use of them.

Football Secretaries News

The Football Secretary was presently undergoing fire fighting training and was likely to be away for several weeks. In the interim the Chairman would attempt to fill in. However, he had no information available at present.

All Managers present were warned to be on the look out for a man (paedophile) recently released from prison locally who was looking to referee or become involved in junior league football. The County Association had still not responded to the letter(s) which had been submitted several months ago by the Club in relation to problems which had been experienced. This was to be investigated further.

The next meeting will be held at the Community Centre on Sunday 1st December 2002 at 19:30.

Trevor Middlecote informed the meeting that he was concerned that on the 6 October he had spotted a Panther still waiting to be  picked up at 19:45. Managers were reminded that they had a duty of care to ensure that ALL children had been collected before they left. He also stated that he had heard that there was a waiting list to join one of the teams. This again was of concern as that was not what Panthers is about. Managers should accept the extra children and urge parents to help wherever possible.

Trevor informed the meeting that he and his assistant Dave Robinson had ordered a full kit for their team which they were going to help pay for. It was agreed that the Club should cover this extra cost and that Trevor should request a cheque from the Treasurer when required.

Only a few managers had to date submitted a list of their players to the Treasurer. Those managers who have yet to respond are request to submit a list at the next meeting

Thank you for your continued support of the Club.
